Forget St. George’s Day, it’s 25 years since the launch of the ZX Spectrum, a home computer that went on to sell millions in the UK and kick-start tens of thousands of programming careers (including mine).

I'm one of the tens of thousands, although mine was a 16K. Almost all games were developed for the 48K version which was really frustrating!

Luckily Jumping Jack worked on it.

Jumping Jack was incredibly frustrating, yet addictive.
There were some pretty good games for 16K early on, such as JetPac, TransAm, CDS Pool and Jungle Trouble.
