Alexa and Your WHOIS Info
Got a web site? Want to try to minimise the spread of your domain registration details (including email) on the web, so that you perhaps get less spam and avoid outdated/incorrect contact info hanging around online for years?
Head over to Alexa and do a Web Search for the domain name to view its Related Info page. Scroll down to the contact info and you might find your email address there, unprotected, possibly along with your address and phone number.
You can request removal using the ‘Correct’ link at the bottom of the page, or at least make sure it’s all accurate.
(Yeah, I know many sites gather together far more data, and if you want anonymity you should opt for private domain registration, but it’s still worth keeping this stuff under control wherever possible.)
