Symbian Light

With PowerTorch (or the freeware Torch) you can turn a Symbian ’phone into a fully-efficient portable illumination device. OK, it just fills the screen with white and turns on the backlight, then lets you pointlessly tinker with colour and brightness.

(It’s not quite as daft as you may think though; colour mobiles often get used as makeshift torches, mine’s saved me from stumbling around in complete darkness a few times)

A few of the newer camera phones have a built in LED torch to allow them to be used in the dark - I also saw an ad for a Nokia phone this morning that had a built in flashlight - so clearly this is an idea the marketeers have taken up...
