Credit Password
Adding your fingerprint to credit reference files to prevent fraud is clever, if a little disturbing for non-members of the David Blunkett Fan Club.
But how about a variation where you simply add a “credit password”, using a decent security question (not your mother’s maiden name) which must be answered if applying for credit? That way your precious biometrics aren’t exposed, and it’s far less cumbersome to administer, but you still have some additional protection.
Anything unusual in your files may make lenders wary though; it’d be interesting to know what people in the industry think of such ideas.
