Matt Round

Having always been intensely interested in both design and technology, I was lucky that the web finally came along and gave me a great hobby and job.

I’m equally happy designing & building sites, devising & planning projects, and creating innovative games & marketing ideas; the common threads throughout my work are creativity and attention to detail.

I live and work in Leamington Spa, and in my spare time I’m into design (online and around us in everyday life), daft web humour, and moderately obscure (pretentious?) films (e.g. Tarkovsky, Kubrick, some Asian cinema).

Experience

Aug 2006 – present Freelance Web Consultant/Designer/Developer
I’m back working for myself full-time again to find interesting projects, try out new technologies, and push forward a few ventures of my own.
Mar 2000 – Jul 2006 Web Consultant/Developer at Big Picture Interactive
Very much a generalist role touching upon almost every aspect of web development including advice, specifications, Flash games, templates, and training/assisting colleagues. Clients ranged from popular consumer brands to major government portals.
Jan 1995 – Feb 2000 Freelance Web Designer/Developer
I basically started my own business as a last resort, intending to produce graphics for games and interfaces for desktop software. Then the web came along and completely grabbed my attention, resulting in work for clients big and small.
